On Wednesday, October 12 IBM announced the next generation of their highly acclaimed IBM Storwize V7000 Midrange Disk System. The V7000 Unified delivers a host of new features and functionality, including NAS support for multiple protocols. The V7000 has been designed to be easy to use and rapidly deployed without additional resources.
The V7000 complements virtualized server environments by providing unmatched performance, availability, advanced functionality and scalable capacity. The system uses built-in solid state drive (SSD) optimization and thin provisioning technologies as well as advanced functions to enable non-disruptive migration of data from existing storage.
Proven storage technologies such as IBM System Storage® Easy Tier™, IBM FlashCopy®, FastBack®, and Tivoli Storage Productivity Center have been brought together to provide efficient data management, including consolidation, virtualization and tiering. Additionally, the V7000 offers new support for VMware vStorage APIs to help improve efficiency and free up server resources for other more mission-critical tasks.

- Rule-based Snapshot scheduling and retention (Easy to use GUI)

- NDMP or TSM backups
- Anti-virus support
Not only is PEAK Resources the only IBM Business Partner in Colorado to have a V7000 on site in our Technology Center for organizations to learn about and see the the V7000 first hand, but through the end of February we will have TWO v7000s to allow clients to learn about and test the platform’s advanced capabilities.
